What rapid & out-of-hours work covers

Rapid response covers the jobs where the slot is the problem, not the slab. Tight programme cores that have to happen this week. Weekend permit windows on highways, retail and infrastructure where the only chance to cut is between Friday night and Monday morning. Night shifts in trading floors, hospitality and transport interchanges where the work has to be done and gone before opening. Broken-line emergencies — a missed sleeve, a leaking riser, an anchor pull that failed sign-off — where someone needs to be on site fast and competent.

The work is the same diamond drilling, core drilling and concrete cutting that we do day-to-day. What changes is the planning around it: RAMS turned around in hours rather than days, kit pre-staged, crew on call, and a clear, honest answer up front about whether we can hit the deadline.

Typical use cases

Who it helps

Main contractors with a programme that has shifted under them. Site managers facing a Monday-morning sign-off and a Friday-evening surprise. M&E contractors who missed a sleeve in the slab pour. Facilities managers in occupied buildings — retail, healthcare, transport, education — who can't take the building offline during opening hours. Insurance claims and emergency response work after leaks, impacts or failed fixings.

Safety, dust and clean-work notes

Out-of-hours work is usually inside occupied or live buildings, which means dust, noise, water and slurry control are the headline risks. Wet drilling is the default with slurry contained at source and removed before handover; dry with M-class HEPA where wet is not an option. Scanning is done before the rig is set on any slab where reinforcement, services or PT cables matter — we don't speed-run the safety steps because the slot is tight. RAMS and any permits issued before mobilising, even on short-notice work.
